Cash 5 Drawing

The May 2, 2002 Cash 5 Drawing
An Improperly Conducted Drawing

The TLC has admitted they goofed.

According to the rules, if any number is drawn 4 times in the pretest drawings, then they are suppose to conduct a 5th pretest drawing. If the number is drawn a 5th time, it automatically disqualifies either the balls or machines. In the TxLottery's Cash 5 pretest drawings held on 5-2-02, #32 was drawn 4 times but they did not conduct the 5th pretest drawing.

The TLC did confirm the pretest results on 5-3-02 and further stated that there were NO notations on the pretest forms and they did, in fact, use Ball Set 7 and Machine F in the actual drawing even though the pretesting did not meet the "procedural standards."

The TLC overlooked the "standards" which means the actual Cash 5 drawing on 5-2-02 was not properly conducted. This is why I did not post the pretest results the night of 5-2-02. I caught the failure to meet the standards at the time the TLC posted the pretest results and did not want to risk posting erroneous data for ya'll to record. But it turns out what they posted was what they used - but not by the rules.
