June 9, 2001 - One $21 Million Winner - Houston

6-29-01- Omar Elizondo, Trustee - CVO - Quick Pick - Collected $11,646,801.60
K & K Food Mart, 1738 S. Dairy Ashfod
The TLC paid this winner $11,648,801.60, however, there was only $11,070,604 in the prize pool.
The TLC
overpaid this winner by $578,197.60 just so they could make good on the
"estimated" advertised amount which is NOT something they had to do. All that was really
owed to this winner was 37.532% of sales ($11,070,604).

Before Linda Cloud took control in 1997, the TLC always paid - and to the penny - ONLY the percentage
of sales due the winner - that's why the "advertised jackpot amounts" were/is quoted as "estimated."

Sales Are Down ...
On 6-24-00 with a $16 million jackpot, sales were $6,345,367, total sales up to this point were $24,939,975
On 7-15-00 with a $16 million jackpot, sales were $6,503,436, total sales up to this point were $25,054,643
Then they added 4 more balls ...
On 8-23-00 with a $17 million jackpot, sales were $5,822,593, total sales up to this point were $24,050,754
On 6-6-01 with a $16 million jackpot, sales were $5,320,858, total sales up to this point were only $23,220,935
but ... notice too on 8-23-00, it's a $17 million pot and not a $16 million pot ... that's because the top prize winner
got a raise from 32% to 37.532% of sales too ... Everything to keep those jackpot numbers bigger!

May 19, 2001 - One $28 Million Winner -
Plano - Park 66, 801 W. Park Blvd - Quick Pick - CVO
7-11-01 - Glenn M. Karisch, Registered Agent, Austin, Texas
Mayflower, L.P. a partnership with Mayflower Enterprises LLC - Collected $15,299,536

It will require an investment of $15,299,536 for the TLC to get a return of $28 million in 25 years.
However, there is only $14,955,112 in the prize pool from sales leading up to this win.
Question is, will the TLC overpay the winner by $344,424 to make good on the advertised amount?
Yes, they did!

April 25, 2001 - One $4 Million Winner - Quinlan - Quick Pick - CVO

6-25-01 - Christie Barnes - Collected $2,206,643.20 - One Stop, Hwy 34

The TLC, by their own choosing,
overpaid this winner by $748,697.20. There was only $1,457,946
in the prize pool but it required $2,206,643.20 to get a return of $4 million over a 25 year period so they
paid that amount.. By law, the winner is only suppose to receive 37.532% of sales - but - the executive
director does have the authority to pay more if she wants.
The TLC does NOT have to pay the amount
required to earn the advertised amount.
Oh well, what's another $748,697.20 out of the players pockets
just so they [TLC] can inflate the jackpots, entice play and try to keep their sales/jackpots up?

they do NOT have to do. Also notice, they did not pay 55% of sales.
