Unclaimed Prize Monies
Note: Keep in mind when reviewing the amounts held in winning
tickets that many players
NEVER claim their prizes. Those funds go into
the "Unclaimed Prize Fund" and the money is
not returned to players.

4 of 6 Winners Won: $946,302
3 of 6 Winners Won: $886,540
But, this is not the amount that will necessarily
be collected. Some of these funds will go into the
"Unclaimed Prize Fund" and will never be
returned to players.

The 6 of 6 winner will receive all that is in the prize pool as there were sufficient funds to invest for a return of $9 million over 25 years. The TLC did not have to take funds from reserve to make good on the 6 of 6 win or to cover the 3 of 6 winners. Keep in mind, the reserve fund comes from the players share of sales.

Special Note
The current rule states that the 6 of 6 winner will receive either the amount in the prize pool OR the amount needed to invest for a return of the advertised amount - which ever figure is the greatest. In this case, the amount in the prize pool is more than sufficient to cover the investment costs for a return of $70 million over 25 years. This jackpot was
under-estimated. I just wonder why the Tx Lottery didn't increase the advertised amount since we all know that sales are "jackpot driven?"

Interesting Tidbits

This is the 11th draw in this roll. Since 6/54, the last time Lotto Texas was on the
11th draw, the jackpot was $85 million, not $68 $70 million as it is today.

However, during 6/50, on 10-1-98, for the 10th draw, the jackpot
was $70 million. And, on 3-16-94, by the 6th draw, the
jackpot was $77 million.
