The winner chose Cash Value Option. He will receive all that is in the prize pool plus an additional $360,907.80. The TLC chose to write into the rule that they will pay the 6 of 6 winner either the amount in the prize pool or the amount required to get a return of the "advertised jackpot amount" ... whichever figure was the greatest. Sure wish I had this kind of money so I could "over-pay" my debts too. And, I really wish I knew where they were getting the money since all games are independent of each other!

The 6 of 6 winner will receive all that is in the prize pool - plus an additional $786,685. The TLC "has" to guarantee the "amount advertised" because they grossly "over-state" the jackpot prize at this level. They chose to "gamble" that they would not have winners at $4 million. This is why they added those 4 balls - to make winning more difficult. And now they want to change the game again and make winning even harder. This type of business plan seems fishy to me - how can any business pay out more than they take in and why should a business even take such risks especially when they don't have to?
