Nov. 24, 2001 - One $6 Million Winner - Ft. Worth - Annual Pay
Retailer: Ramsey Grocery, 1201 E. Ramsey
Anthony Vernon of Ft. Worth collected his first payment of $240,000 on Dec. 21, 2001.

The amount allocated for the 6 of 6 winner for this win was $2,898,462. However,
it required an investment of $3,374,654 to give a return of $6 million over 25 years.
The TLC anted up an additional $476,192 to make good on the amount they
"advertised." Sure wish I knew how they can afford this and why they want
to write it into the rule that they will pay either the amount allocated or the amount
required to invest for a return of the amount advertised - whichever figure is the greatest.

Oct. 27, 2001 - One $24 Million Winner - Lewisville
Self Picked Ticket - CVO

Nov. 19, 2001 - Red Bird Family Limited Partnership/Red Bird Family Enterprises, Inc. collected $14,023,056.
Registered Agent: John R. McNair, Dallas - Directors: Raymond F. Pollone & Joan L. Pollone
Collected $336,836
more than what was in the prize pool.
Winning Retailer: Convenience Plus, 1010 S. Edmonds, Lewisville

There was $13,686,220 allocated from sales for this winner but it requires an investment
of $14,023,056 to earn $24 million - the amount advertised. Therefore, to make
good on the "amount advertised" for this winner, the TLC will be out an additional $336,836.
Can you imagine - the TLC is "purposely" proposing to re-write the rule to say they "will" pay
the amount advertised instead of the percentage allocated to the prize category?
I wonder, what's in it for them?

October 3, 2001 - One $40 Million Winner - Roundrock - CVO - QP
Oct. 26, 2001 - Hermosillo Family Trust - Ramon Hermosillo, Trustee - Collected $23,212,912
Retailer - Shell - 806 Sam Bass Rd.
The investment costs to get a return of $40 million is $23,212,912 but there is only $23,129,552
in the prize pool which means the TLC will probably overpay this winner by $83,360
so they can make good on the "advertised" amount. Paying the amount advertised is not
written in the rule - but they are trying to write it in the rule. Since it is physically impossible
to say "exactly" how much the jackpot is, writing this in the rule doesn't make sense - but you
can rest assured they have an ulterior motive!
